Dragon Wing Post

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here it is: The Last Post.

This year you created a family. Please use this post to keep your family in touch forever. Come here and post anything you want. Let the family know about where you are, what you are doing, and what's going on in your life. Please come back again and again and again. You can also continue to visit the wiki/workspace. If you need help in the future with your writing (or with ANYTHING else) please come here and let us all know about it.

If you use this post/website correctly, you will be able to maintain the strong connections and friendships you've created this year. Looking back, almost any adult will tell you that it is the people in your life that are important.

The things you have, the grades you earn, and all of your accomplishments will not compare to the friends you have, the relationships you build, and the memories you can carry with you forever and ever.

Please use this post to prove us right!

One last thing... Please do not attempt to post personal information like phone numbers and addresses here, because we are not going to publish those things. Sorry!

Love Always,
Mr. Moore and Ms Vander Velde

Dear Mr. Moore,
It is really sad to leave east and it was really sad when all the fifth graders walked down the hallways for there last time. I think that we should not be sad because we can always come back and visit east. I will miss my friends and all of you. Thank you!

Dear Mr. Moore and Ms. V,
I'm going to miss East so much...but I'm also excited for the new things that I'm about to face. I'm going to miss my good friends too. We know that our relationships as dragons will never end in our hearts. We will carry the memory of East, wherever and whenever. East has welcomed me with open arms. I was hesitated to get curled around the arms, but now I am locked inside its arms. Now that I'm having to go, I have to get out of the comforting arms into a whole different world. That is, middle school. Though it will be hard, and sometimes exciting, I will carry the memory of East everywhere. I will try to come to Dragon Pagoda often, and I will miss being in 5th grade. Time goes on fast...but I WILL visit with my little brother, who's going into 4th grade. I'm happy for him, and I hope he will be able to carry the memory, just like us, the 5th graders. Oh, and I would like to just thank EVERYONE, including Ms. V and Mr. Moore. Thank you so much.

Dear Mr. Moore,

Today has been the best day of the year. I was sad and happy at the same time, and I hope to see you and Ms. VanderVelde this summer. You guys have truly been the best teachers ever, and I'm not lying.
To me, yuo guys are like second parents who I am really going to miss. You have helped me on the road to success and happiness, and I thank you.
I promise that I will try to come and visit you and Ms. VanderVelde at least twice a week next year, and I hope that our future 5th graders are able to follow in our steps and make you both very proud.
Today, I really didn't want to leave, but I had to, because I knew that you and Ms. VanderVelde, even though you said that you didn't want us to leave you guys, I knew that you really did want us to continue down the path that you have already sent us down, and I hope that you and Ms. VanderVelde will have a great summer.

Dear Mr.Moore and Ms.V,
I can not believe that I am actually about to leave I will miss this school tremendously and I will hopefully come back next year to say hi. Thanks for everything you have done I have learned many great things from you and I will always remember them. I remember walking into the class the very 1st day of school and now leaving the very last day of school here at East. The good news is that I get to see some of my friends at Euclid but not all wish really does stink because many of the people that I will not see are my best friends and I have shared a lot of many good things with them. I will always have you guys and all of my piers here at East in my heart. This is really hard for me because I have been here since kindergarten and when we where walking up the halls for the very LAST time I felt like wow my last year here and how fast they have gone. I am really proud that I have been a dragon but now that I am going to become a falcon at Euclid makes me realize that I am ready to fly with the wings that you and Ms.V have created for me. Well I will comment back ASAP. Bye!!

Dear Mr. Moore,
I believe that we have created a family and know that some will relly the same as always and some will change as they grow. I think that just because we are getting seperated doesn't mean that we will not be a family. Some will still get to see each other as friends but than if you look with your heart you will see that we are a family, but now we move on to the next level to try to achieve the next level of intensity. Some will face new chalanges and won't have someone there that was there for them before but will have a new person there to tell them to never back out because if you do that is like saying that you just gave up. But we will try to carry on what we started and there is no end to it. I would like to say to everyone that even if I didn't get along that well with you I would like to say that there is a place in my heart that you can complete and fill up and that no matter who you are you have always been there for me.

Sincerely and always,
Iratny

Ialready miss you so much. Mr. Moore, After continuation my mom thought that Narah & I were your favorite students, are we(some teachers agreed with my mom. My dad told me that he could really see how much you would mis me. My mom said that you must have been a great teacher because I have really improved a lot as writer.

Mrs. V you scared my through out the entire year But I did get to see your good side more often then I thought. So I found out that you were really nice. I wish I could record my singing so I could send it to you and Mr. Moore but if you really want to hear my singing ask Mrs. Kay Because I recorded my voice for her.

Mrs. Kapren I miss you so much. I hope we can still see each other since Daisy is still going to East. I wish I didn't have to go to middle school.

Dear Mr. Moore,

Today I went to the Bemis Librarry with my mom and sisters. I checked out 3 books. The titles of the books are Black Stallion & the Shape-shiffter by Steven Farley, Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George, & lastly Forged By Fire by Sharon M. Draper.
Forged by Fire is the one I am reading now I just started the book today & I'm almost done with it. It is kind of like the story I wrote about Devin & Darren.

I also went to the lake 3 days ago. The water was great. I got to get a ride on one of those fast water thing.

My Mom & Dad say that when we have money they'll take my family and cousins to ride horses. Isn't that great. When I heard them say that I thought I was dreaming.

Dear 5th Graders,
I just came home from the Taekwondo Jr. Olympics in Austin Texas on Monday. It was really hot there, especially in warm ups(like in soccer). The good thing is that I won a gold metal in Forms and fighting at a national level which is really cool. You can see what it is all about on http://usa-taekwondo.us/

Dear Mr. Moore,

Middle school is going great, but math isn't. My grade is horrible, and I am trying to bring it up however I can. I go to a program called success maker evry morning, and I ask the teacher, Mrs. Blei questions if I dont get it. I am really stressing out, what should I do?

P.S. I have all A's in my other subjects.

Admira,
Good work on your grades! I'm sorry to hear about the troubles. Here are some ideas.

1. You're doing the right thing by getting extra help and asking questions. Have you considered forming some kind of study group with a friend or two?

2. If you let me know what you are having problems with, I can recommend some online activities to help.

3. Talk to some other students who have struggled and found a way to improve their grade. Think about kids outside of your current class when you do this. What did they do to help themselves?

4. Keep working hard. Teachers love a student who works hard. You'll get more help and the teachers will be more likely to spend time working with a student who shows tons of effort.

5. Think about simple things that might help such as changing seats. Are there distractions in the classroom that you might be able to separate yourself from?

Dear Mr. Moore,

I have some good and bad news. The good news is that my dad has been blessed meaning that he's going to be a pasture soon. The bad news is that we have to move to Fort Morgan. So my little sister, Daisy is not going to graduate from east like me or my cousins before. But I don't mind moving I didn't make any friends this year.

Dear Mrs. Kapren,

I really miss you and my other teachers. I wrote a poem thats really long. It's sort of a love poem but I think you'll like it. It's called Prince Blue.

I’m so fond of you
My dear prince blue
You’ve got me crying for you.

You’re like a fire,
A hot desire,
A burn is required.

You’re so divine,
You’re one of a kind,
But you’ll never be mine.

I look up from my group
She’s sitting next to you,
I look down at my shoes.

Inside I’m breaking
‘Cause you’re always taken,
My heart is aching (for you).

You haunt my dreams,
I smile at you,
But it’ll never be true.

So I guess I’ll give up . . .

But I dream of the day
That she’ll go away
And you’ll be smiling my way.

But my heart will be breaking
‘Cause again you’ll be taken
And I’ll be left aching.

I wish it was me
But I know it can’t be,
You’re just too good for me.

Dear prince blue,
I don’t know what to do
I know she’ll never leave you.

Will I get my chance?
Will you ask me to dance?
Will we go to Paris, France?

Dear prince blue,
You’ve got me crying for you,
What am I supposed to do?

I’ve heard . . .
You’re no longer with her,
When did this occur?

Its prom night,
The stars are bright,
There’s candle light.

You come closer to me
But I think it can’t be,
You smile right at me.

You say “Hi,”
I say “Hi.”
You look up at the sky.

You smile at me,
I smile at you,
“Will you dance with me?”

I can’t speak,
I look at my feet,
“Yes.” I finally squeak.

I got my chance,
You asked me to dance,
We’re on our way to Paris, France.

We said our I do’s,
My dear prince blue,
I’m so in love with you.

Dear prince blue,
Can it be true?
That I now belong to you.

You’re so divine,
You’re one of a kind,
Now you’re forever mine.

Hope you enjoyed the poem.

from,
Crystal

ps. don't let Mr. Moore say I told you so or publish this on the blog.
