Goddard Middle School Music

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You just had a chance to attend the assembly at Goddard Middle School. I am curious about your thoughts. Are you thinking about being in a musical ensemble? Do you already take private music lessons? Do you know anyone who can play an instrument or sing really well? What do you think you will do in middle school as far as music goes? Do you understand that many people (including me) have gone to college with music scholarships because they are able to play an instrument or sing? Please tell us a bit about your musical plans for the future. Once you have answered some of these questions, take a moment to respond to some of your classmates.

Thanks,

Mr. Moore

Dear Mr. Moore,
Yes, I am thinking about being in a musical ensemble. I'm still deciding whether I want to sing or play an instrument. If I decide to play an instrument, I would probably play the flute or clarinet because I have played them both. I definetly think I will have a career in music.
Sincerely,
Cheyanne

I will not go to Goddard I will attend Euclid Middle School. I liked all the music it was very interesting I am going to try out for piano because 2 of my cousins there names are Cristina and Gaby. Cristina has played it for 6 to 7 years she started when she was 9 and right now shes 16. Gaby has played for um 2 or 3 years, and really I just want to be like them and another thing I was hoping that is if they have it in Euclid is cheer leading I like to try that out because its interesting to me and I think Ill like that.

Dear Mr. Moore,

During the assembly at Goddard Middle School, I was thinking that I would really want to be in Choir, because looking at how much they took pride in their voices and in music, made me want to participate in Choir. I also like the violins, because they played a nice tune, and the students looked like they really enjoyed themselves. The instrument I don't think I can play is the tuba. It is too big for me. Since I don't take any private music lessons, I think it will be harder for me to learn the instrument I want to play.
My dad plays the guitar, and for me, I like to think of it as a violin, and I watch my dad play the guitar, and I think it will help me learn how to play the violin.
Somethings I think we will do in Middle school as far as music goes, is that we will be able to be in performances and show parents that we can actually learn through music, and that it's not just notes and tunes, it's life written down in music. It's our passion.
As far as my music future goes, I think I will continue to play the violin, and teach people who have not laughed and been happy in such a long time, to learn to appreciate the tunes and joy a instrument, or even your own voice can bring to you.

Admira

Dear Mr.Moore and Ms.V,
I know someone who can play an instrument really well. My cousin Matt can play an Alto Saxaphone really well. A couple of years ago he played a song for us. Everyone enjoyed it. I have tried to play the saxaphone many times and I keep practicing. Although, I think I want to be in the choir and in band.
I have been in choir for two years at the school and I have been in a singing group called, Young Voices of Colorado. I want to play the trumpet, snare drums, bass drum or clarinet. My sister played the violin in orchestra. She was also good at it.
I also know someone who can play the trumpet good. He is a family friend. He even has a dark red trumpet.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I really liked the musical at Goddard middle school. The thing that I would want to do when I get into middle school is do the choir and encore. I would also like to join the band. If I do join the band I wouldn't know which instrument to try out for. I would love to join the choir because, I love to sing and it is my favorite thing to do. But, for sure, I am going to try out for the choir and encore. Yet, I don't want to go to middle school, but yet I want to. I do know who sings really well like me. That person Angelica U. We both love to sing a lot. I don't take private music lessons. I really liked their music and I am so glad because I am going to Goddard next year along with Angelica. The music that they and the choir really inspired me to do a lot of music groups in middle school. Thank you Goddard!
Sincerely,
Julyssa

Dear Mr.M and Miss V,
I am not really thinking about going into a band or any thing.I think its just to hard for my life because if I did I would have to get use to the loud music because If I were in a band I would just run out of the room. Can you imagen me in a band? If you can than it might look a little silly because I am not the band type and that is why I don't wnt to be in a band.

Dear Mr. Moore,

My plans for the future for music are to play the Saxophone, the Harp, the piano, and to sing. I would like to play the Sax because I like the way it sounds and I like Jazz music. The Harp sounds wonderful and it looks like the inside of a piano. The piano is my favorite, my pasture use to play it during church but he left, our new pasture dose not know how to play the piano so I would like to know how to play the piano because I want to take his place. Lastly I would like to be a singer because my family and church say that I have the best voice an 11 year old could have.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I really want to play the snare in jazz band because I have been playing drums all my life. I took private drum lessons from a guy named Chad and i took them through the summer after third grade until the middle of the year (December) in fifth grade. My plans for the future are I want to be in the 6th, 7th, 8th grade jazz band and I hope I could even get in at high school jazz band if they have one. My friend can play the drums to and can sing very well. She also plays some guitar.

Dear Mr. Moore,

My thoughts are that in the future in middle school I will try to sing and be in the soccer team. I am already in the soccer team called United, but I am not in the honors choir or young voices. This is the reason why I asked that. I might be in the choir or play the guitar.

Dear Mr. Moore & Ms. V

The thing that I was thinking about during the assembly was I think that I want to be in Choir or I want to be in the Jazz Band. The reason I want to do those things is because I want to have a better education in music if I go to college. I want to take private music lessons but I can't because I don't know what instrument to play. Someone I know who can sing really well is my aunt.
sincerely,

I love music and have always wanted to be a singer. I decided to start taking voice lessons when I was your age, in fifth grade and continued through high school. I was even accepted into the music program up at college for my singing. Now I just sing for fun and at weddings.
I also learned to play the piano when I was pretty young and continue to play even today. Music has always and will always be a big part of my life.
I hope today opened up some ideas for each of you; on how you can make music a part of your life. Music could be a profession you choose, a past time for fun or how you even relax. Music should most definitely have a place in your life though.

Dear Mr. Moore,
What I am thinking of doing in middle school is playing the drums. Another thing I am planning on doing is participating in music ensemble. I really liked the music at Goddard Middle School. The one I really liked was the band when they played there last song. I enjoyed the trip very much and I wish I could go there again someday.

I think that going to middle school might not be so bad. I mean you could go to Goddard Middle School and get a musical instrument from Goddard. I think that my voice is my musical instrument because I can change the sound of my voice when ever I want to. I do take music lessons I come every Thursday morning to go to the music room to sing at seven forty five.

Dear Mr. M and Ms. V,
I am thinking about being in a musical. No I do not take private music lessons. I do know someone who can play the piano well. His name is Anthony. He plays the piano. What I think I am going to do in middle school with music is play the flute and the cello. No, I did not know that people get into college with a scholarship for music. My musical plans for the future is to play the instruments that I already told you about. I will do this for middle school only. Than I think I am going to play sports.

The musical performance was not great but AWESOME!I loved the way the orchestra played, how the choir sang and I liked the caloge of instruments in the band.I know a few people who play instruments for one my big sis and my brother. For the future I would like to play the bass at Euclid middle school. The reason I pick the bass is because the deep tone of it.

Dear Mr. Moore
I would not like to be in a music class when i'm at middle school or high school simply because i have never been good with instrument. Now I know what your thinking I could sing if I cant play a instrument I'm not a good singer ether. Music just is not for me. Although I cant is or play an instrument I can listen to it.If I were in high school or middle school I would not want to play in a band. I would probably sign up for something else. If only I could use a instrument correctly or sing nicely. But sadly I cant. I know I can approve but I try and I try and I'm not making any improvement.I will keep practicing and hope I change my mind but if I don't will keep trying, besides practice makes perfect!

Dear Jonathan,

I might have to agree with you because I really don't like loud noises but when I am in my car with my mom and there is a song that she likes for example Nickel back she will blast the music and then I will get really mad at her and then turn it down.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I think that the assembly was great to be at. All of the music was fantastic. The type of music program I would I would like to be in is, choir. I would also like to audition for encore choir as well. If I am in band, the instrument I would want to play is, a tuba. Although I don't already take private lessons I would like to for singing and playing the tuba. I hope next year in middle school I can be in alls sorts of different music program.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I'm not thinking about being in an musical ensemble because I just want to perform by myself (singing). But I just might sing in a group with about 3,4 people, just like the singers I like. But basically, I kinda of just want to perform by myself. I'm not sure why...maybe for better attention...but now that I think about it, I think it'll be cool to sing with a group. For example, after we rehearsal together and have break time, we'll have fun hanging out and just having social time. If I sing by myself, I'd have really no one to talk to. Oh, and yes, I do know some people who are really, really good at an instrument or singing. I have a lot of people I know, so I guess I'll just type down a few. First of all, my big brother- he's really good at playing the piano and the saxophone. I guess the piano-playing skill passed onto me. He's good at singing too-that probably passed down to me also. Next, Anya and Rebekah- they're really good singers. I always get awed by their singing. That's the end of the list. I take private lessons on piano I started playing the piano when I was about 6 and I still play the piano. I don't plan on playing the piano for middle school though- I think the only choice for me is Jazz if I want to play the piano. When I go to middle school, I might just choose choir or/and orchestra(the flute). My musical plans for the future is this- I want to be a singer. As I have mentioned, I'm not so sure if I'm going to sing in groups of 3 and 4 or just sing by myself. This trip to Goddard made me want to play the flute and sing in the choir. Well, I've just got to make much more decisions in my life, but I really plan on being a singer- I'd play the piano and I'd sing.
Sincerely,
Narah

Dear Mr. Moore,
As far as music goes I really enjoy music I think the best instrument I love to use is piano. Although thats not the best one I think I play the best is my voice. Ever since I was really little I wanted to play the piano and before I used to take classes where they showed me how to play the piano. My grandfather has always wanted me to acomplish something so he supports me in every single way that he can. Now things have changed over the years and my opinions change. I know a lot of people who play violin in my family. I got interested in playing that and like I told you my grandfather tries to support me in every possible way. My dad tells me that music can lead you to a very good college scolarship. So then my Grandfather got me a violin and talked to my dad to try to enroll me in classes. The class that i'm taking now is singing classes. The instrument I want to really play is violin. My dad really wants me to have a good future. I am really interested in joining every single class but you know I just am going to try my best in everything. I will make sure that I try my best in everything.

Sincerely,
Iratny

I don't take any private lessons but I did play a little Gautier last year, I also know someone who plays the saxophone really good and he has private lessons. I think that I might join band or orchestra. I did not understand that people with scholarships could play an instrument or sing but now I do.I plan to see all that I could do at Goddard and other place to see what fits me the best and if I know what I want them I'll take lessons during the summer, and thats what I'm going to do for my musical future.

Dear Mr. Moore and Ms.V,
What I thought about the musical was great and cool. What instrument I really want to play is the Violin. The reason I want to play the Violin is because it has a smooth sound to it and really no I don't play an instrument yet but I will soon. My sister Valerie played the piano but she doesn't play it any more. As far as music go I might join in band or choir or the orchestra. Yes I really understand that they go on and get scholarships because of their wonderful music the people they are playing. I really loved watching the orchestra, choir, and band play.

Dear Mr. Moore,
Why did we go to this anyway.I understand that it's about instruments. And it's about us joining th band or the encore that is after school or the orchestra.I thought instead it to be a normal school work day but it was kind of interesting and kind of not just at the same time all at once.At the end I liked the first joke he said about knock knock, who is there, knock knock, who is there, knock knock, who is there, the boy who can't reach the door bell.I was like hahahahahahahahahaha.I really liked the song amazing grace. That was such a good song the last part of it was the best part of the whole song. I also like that song that sounded like it was from sponge bob.The thing I liked a lot was that each song had a different instrument and there wasn't just one type of instrument the whole time. They mixed the instruments witch made it a lot more interesting to listen.Another thing I liked about that musicale was that there was a mix different grades and a mix of kids of all ages in middle school.I noticed that the teacher where nice and that sent me a message that godderd is a good school. And that is what Know about the musicale.

Dear Dr. Oaks,

The assembly the 5th graders saw at Goddard was great! I really favored the violin, and to see the looks of joy on the middle schoolers faces while they played their violins, viols, and cellos, made me feel really good about coming to Goddard next year, and play an instrument, or sing in Choir. I really really liked the Choir, and they were fantastic! I am looking forward to going to Goddard, and feel what the middle schoolers right now feel, when they pick up a instrument. I am also looking forward to learning in the classrooms with such great and educated teachers like yourself. Oh yeah, and perfect practice makes perfect!

Dear Mr.Moore and Miss.V,
When I got to Goddard Middle school the first thing I loved were the lockers. When I sat down the first thing that came to my mind was that what were we going to do here. Then when the principal came and stared to talk about the band, the choir, and the orchestra I said to my self, oh were here to hear the kids play for us. When the band and orchestra director came up to the middle of the gym and said that you could try out for the band choir or orchestra I asked my self well what if your not going to come to this school next year and suddenly he said that no matter what school you go to you can still play an instrument or sing. So what I thought of doing was being in the choir or the orchestra the reason that I want to be in those two is because I love to sing and the reason I want to be in orchestra is because I loved how the girls played the violin and because I thought the music they played was awesome.

Sincerely

Well I don't really think about myself in a band or Orchestra but I do like Jazz.So I might sign up for Jazz or something like that.In Middle school I might consider Jazz for an option because I like the Trumpet and it was mentioned in the assembly.I really don't know anybody that sings really well or knows how to play an instrument really good. Some of the music at Goddard isn't what I usually listen to only some Jazz and thats all nothing else. The music sounds fantastic but a little too complicated for me because I don't know how to play the flute or the trombone. The main thing is that I have some plans for my future in music.

My thoughts about the Goddard Middle School Music was truly amazing!I loved how all the students that weren't taking and they waited quietly until the others were done what they were suppose to do.I am wondering how much time they studied to make that wonderful music. Also I don't know any one that can play the instrument very well but, the problem is that I haven't met them or I don't know there names. What I want to play for an instrument is all of the instruments. When I go in to Middle School I thin I will play lots of instruments. What a nice school to invite schools over to see lots of amazing stuff and thank you.
