Here is the post for you to share any thoughts you have now that we have done both dissections. Also, Mrs. Kay thought you (and Mr. Newell) would be interested in this website about the blind spot. Also, check out this site!

Dear Mr. Newell
The dissections were the bomb I liked the eye more than anything. The heart was weird you had to put your finger up then it would get stuck it was nasty but I liked it.

Dear Mr.Moore,
I had a very good time doing the cow eye experiment with Mr.Newell and with my whole classmates and also with Mrs.Kay. The real nasty part that I did was that Arturo and I had to open the eye that the cow had and my thoughts were that the experiment was so awesome that I ever did in my whole life.
Sincerely,
Elias
Dear Mr. Moore,
Thank you Mr.Newell for coming to the school and doing this experiment with us. I really like doing the dissections with the heart and the cows eye. I thought it was so cool to be able to touch a pig heart and an cows eye. I enjoyed doing this with my partner Michele. I especially liked dissecting the cows eye today. The heart and eye were awesome. Thank you both fifth grade teachers for letting us do this experiment.

I learned a lot with the eye dissection. My partner was none other than Nathan. We saw a lot of stuff like the pupil, the cornea, and the color of eye that the cow had. I want to thank Mr. Newell and Mr. Moore for this awesome eye dissection.

Dear Mr Moore,
I had fun today in science dissecting the eye of a cow and learning some parts you didn't tell us.I had fun like I never had before in my life.
Ana
Dear Mr. Newell,
I really am thankful that you came over to our school to help us with the dissection. I really truly wrote did learn a lot about the eye and don't worry I will keep that promise of not telling the other class about the dissection I truly did like it. The eye was really hard to cut around the Cornea. It was really nasty but I quit liked that. I liked the eye better than the heart I just think it was kind of neat. I just can't wait till I disect a frog. It was such a wonderful expirience. thank you again and I really apreciate it.
sincerely,
Iratny
Dear Mr. Moore
The dissection was cool and kinda gross but after we were done I felt like throwing up. I just want to know why did we get cow eyes than another animals eye. The heart wasn't that amazing than the eye.
Sincerely,
Esmeralda
Dear Mr. Newell,
Thanks for coming and helping us with the heart and eye digestion. For me I liked the eye instead of the heart, but I still liked both of them. I thought the heart was harder then the eye, but you were really cool. I had a LOT of fun in science, out of all my school years 5th grade science is the BEST!

Dear Mr. Moore
I think that it is a grate idea about that blind spot web page. I also liked the cow eye dicection that was fun. I liked when we cut out the pupil and the cornia.
Sincerly,
Shawn
Dear Mr.Newel,
Thank you for coming and showing us how to dissect a heart and a cow's eye. The heart was grosser than the eye. The eye had gel inside of it. It felt so weird. It also smelled bad. Even though it was gross it was fun.
Thank you,
Denisse
Dear Mr. Newell ,
I really enjoyed working on the dissections, especially on the eye. My favorite part of it was taking out the vitreous gel and then seeing the colorful part at the bottom. I really enjoyed the heart as well because we found all sorts of things such as the Pulmonary Valve, and the Tricuspid Valve.

Dear Mr. Newell
The eye dissection today was really cool! We got to cut about 1/4 away from the cornea, and when we lifted it up, we saw the lens and we took it out and it was all round and when we looked through it, everything was upside down! Then we saw the retina, and it was gooey, and it was held down by vitreous gel, and we had to put our fingers in and take all the gel out. Grose, but cool! You are a really good science teacher. Thank you so much for coming in and showing us this. You should fill in for Mr. Moore EVERY science class.
Admira
Dear Mr. Newell,
Thank you for bringing in the body parts. It was really fun. You made us laugh with your "dreamy blue eyes". The eye was my favorite,it was really slimy. Once again thank you. It was really cool.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I thought that the eye dissection was cool. Specially the beginning of the experiment. My favorite part of the eye dissection was taking out the vitreous gel. My least favorite was scraping the retina out. This was more fun then the heart dissection. I had a lot of fun.

Dear Mr. Moore,
At first when I had the heart dissection, I thought it was the it was the most disgusting thing I've done in my whole entire life and that I would not survive through it. The pig heart was funky-smelling and I don't think it was an easy and fun thing to do. After I had finished the dissection, I figured it wasn't too bad. Today, when we did the eye dissection, I thought the same old thing. Since I don't want to give out anything else to the other fifth grade class- Ms. V's class, I'll end it right here. I just want Mr. Moore, Mr. Newell, and some other teachers that I am very glad and want to thank you for the great privilege of being able to dissect some of the most amazing parts of animals which were really like the human body parts.
Sincerely,
Narah
Dear Mr.Moore and Ms.V,
I liked both of the dissections but my favorite was the cow eye. When we were dissecting the pig heart we got to put our hand through one part of the heart, and it came out by the aorta. I liked dissecting the eye more because the tapetum was shiny and blue. The lens was also my favorite part. I loved the texture of the lens. It was kind of hard and squishy at the same time. I agree with Karen because both of the dissections were cool. Although they both smelt horrible. My partners were Andrew for the pig heart and Viridiana for the cow eye. Mr.Newell was so nice for coming in to the classroom to help us with the dissections and he made sure that we knew where to make the cuts. I can't wait until we dissect something else!
Kaylee
Dear Mr.M and Mrs.V,
the sites are very neat and the disections were cool to but I am going to ask you if the more miture we get the more stuff we get to disect because I thought we can mabey disect a brain some time in the grade?Type me back when you want to tell me.

Dear Mr.Moore and Ms. V,
I thought the eye dissection was the coolest thin to dissect ever. I thought it was better than the heart dissection. The thing I wanted to keep the most of the eye was the vitreous gel. I couldn't stop playing with that part of the eye. That was funny when Mr. Newell cut the eye and quickly graved water and squirt it every where. He got mu hair wet. The eye was much better to dissect than the heart.

Dear Mr. Moore and Ms.V,
I loved the dissections.Well, except for the pig heart because I ate pork chops that night so... so yeah I think you know what I mean. The eye was totally awesome! When I scraped out the Vitreous gel, Jody and I would not stop playing with it! My favorite part was the lens. It was sweet that I was able to play with a gooey eyeball. I really never thought that a cow's eye could be that big! When I saw it I was like, "Whoa! That thing is huge!" At first I didn't want to touch it. Then, as Mr. Newell was talking to us, my hand reached towards the eye and started poking the cornea. I couldn't leave the eye alone! It was so fascinating! The tapetum was really pretty. When I looked at it I was like, "Holy cow that thing is pretty!" I loved both of the dissections. They were amazing! Thank you, Ms. V, Mr. Moore, Ms. Kay, and Mr.Newell.
Sincerely,
Cheyanne
Der Ms.V and Mr.Moore,
I really like the heart dissection and I didn't get to do the eye dissection): and I hope that I can do it. I really wanted to do it with my class but I guess not. Today I'm having a really bad day and I hope that I don't have a bad day the rest of the day! I really liked Mr.Newell he was really funny and cool I even wanted to do the dissection with him but I guess not. The website is pretty cool and I was wondering if we can go to the fun area on the website. When I get older I hope that I can dissect other things like a frog and many more cool dissecting things.
Sincerely,
Angelica U.
Dear Miss V,
I loved doing the eye dissection it was so cool seeing the blind spot.I think the eye dissection was better then the heart.Mr Newell you were so funny we had another chance so awesome. The eye was so fun I rather dissect eyes then do anything else.
Your friend Isabel
Dear Mr.Moore and Miss V,
What I learn from the websites was that our eyes face forward and that is call stereovision because they work together to make sense out of an image and with depth perception. Other animals with eyes on the sides, like fish, cannot see straight ahead as well as we can. Garden Spider have 2-8 eyes.Coral Grouper Cephalopholis miniata (30cm).That is what I learned from the two sites.I also want to said that I had a very good time doing the cow's eye experment. Also I wanted to said that all the comments that are post are very good because they put alot of good detail and tell what they did in the cow's eye.

Dear Mr.Newell,
Thank you for taking time out of your day and coming to our school and helping us dissect the eye.My favorite part of the eye is the tapetum. The reason for this is because it has pretty clors and it was conected to the blind spot.Another reason why I liked the eye is because of the lense. The lense was able to magnify the words up close just like my glaseslens does.Again I would like to thank you for coming and helping us with the dissections.
JEFFREY
Dear Mr.Newell,
Thank you for taking time out of your day to come and helping us dissect the eye.My favorite part was when we took the len part out, because it wasn't as gross as taking out the nerve, and cutting a circle around the cornea.I thought that the pupil was a part you could take out,but you can't because its a hole in the eye.I think that dissecting the eye was the best thing I have ever done in my life.It was the best thing because I always wanted to see how an eye looks like from the inside.Thank you Mr.Newell.
From,
Mirican
Dear Mr.Moore,Miss.V and Mr.Newell,
I really enjoyed dissecting the eye and the heart but the one I really liked was the eye because you could see the inside and see the vitreous gel and put it back together.Hope we can dissect a frog!
Love Jessica
Dear Mr.Newell,
I thought that both of these dissection activities were really smooth.I loved the eye dissection. The most part that I Liked is when you skirted water all over the place. What I also liked is getting all the peaces out and looking at the pupil and Mrs.K giving us a peace of paper, getting the pupil from the cow and putting it on top of the word and looking through like a giant word I had a great time!I also ahd a great time with the heart
Love,
Gina
