Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today we had a great visit with Dan Maas and Scott Murphy. They were very interested in learning more about how the eee computers have made a difference to you as a student. They wondered how life is different for students with access to computers and the internet. They asked if students learn more, or if they learn better with the computers. What are your thoughts? Do you enjoy writing more? Do you learn more n science class? Do you enjoy working on math more with the computers? In your comment, please spend some time convincing Scott and Dan about your opinion. What proof do you have to support your ideas? This comment could almost turn into an essay...
Please remember who your audience is. After you comment, I will make sure to send Scott and Dan a link to read your comments. Please remember to include your first name only, as always!
Thanks!

Dear Mr. Moore,
I do like writing, doing math, and those other stuff that you listed better because I don't have to handwrite a lot and when I type I don't need to worry about erasing things. Another reason I like these computers is that they are wireless computers and I don't have wireless computers at my house.

Dear Dan Mass & Scott Murphy,
Thank you for coming and looking at my work I really apreciate that and I never heard of people coming to our school and checking out our hard work. So I think that you really liked my hard work that's hanged up in the wall outside by my class & by the lunch room and I also apreciate it for you guys coming all the way over Ahere to check out our hard work and from other kids from other classes. Also i hope that you liked the workk that the other students wrote.

Dear Mr. Maas and Mr. Murphy,
I think my life in school had an impact because of the Triple eee's. They had made school more enjoyable since now we use them so often it's like it's part of our life. The first time I saw the computers, my heart was beating as fast as it could. I was also excited because the laptops were brand new! Another thing that made school enjoyable with the computers was the blog. I was fascinated by the blog's abilities such as being able to vote on some things Mr. Moore would ask for our votes, being able to see where people from around the world visited our cool blog, and being able to write comments, my opinions about something. Now for the 2nd question. I think learning got easier for me with the Triple eee's because for example, during school, we would just go to a blog with math games and practice our lacks of math. Also Spelling City. Now, kids are doing 90-100% on their tests. Once again, thank you very much for the helpful computers that has made a huge impact in our moments in school.
Sincerely,
Narah
Dear Mr.Moore, Dan Maas, and Scott Murphy
They really made a difference to me because it makes learning more fun. So instead of school being boring it's a lot of fun. But first Thank you Dan Maas and Scott Murphy for coming I am deeply honored about the things you said about us. You've put a lot of good work into getting us these computers, I feel like a changed student when I turn on these computers knowing you put so much work in them. It makes me proud to be an East Dragon. It's rally helped us in science too. When I came to this school I thought it would be boring and bland. Once again, Thank you Dan Maas and Scott Murphy you've really made a difference in this school.
Sincerely,
Sophia
Dear Dan Mass and Scott Murphy,
Now that we have our own computers to use I think I enjoy writing more because instead of having to write on paper and keep erasing words or sentences on computers you could just backspace. Also you move things around easily by just highlighting and then move it.I think students learn more by using the Triple e's because instead of having a teacher using the projector they could just tell us where to go and we could go at our own paste. I think all 5th graders should use these because it's easier to get to places.

Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
I am glad you want to learn more about the triple e's. I hope you come again to see all we do in them. It did make a difference. When I was in 4th grade I hated writing but now I don't. I still don't like to write a lot but I don't hate it. Yes I learn more in science in D.E united streming.I got to go so bye!
Thanks!
Denisse
Dear Mr. Dan Maas and Mr. Scott Murphy,
The eee computers have made me like reading more. Now when we write it makes it fun I sometimes wish that for 1 whole day we would have writing in the computer. That Will never happen its like if I said I wish it rained money. Will Thank you.

Emanuel
dear Dan and scott I think that the computers changed the way we learn. It changed the way we learned because the computer is moor easyer to learn on. Because the computer can teach beter than the teachers because it gives a lot more information.

Dear dan and scott
wow! The triple e's are awesome! they help me learn write and explore. The reason I think this is because I think if there is technology involved in anything with kids it catches there attention automatically. plus theres no talking while everybody is using there triple e's because there is so much expense. I wish you guys would stay here at East Elementary school a little more so we could complement you on how cool the triple e's are

Dear Dan Mass and Scott Murphy,
The computers made me better at writing and I also like writing a little more too. It made me better at writing because when we just have to type on the computer it is whole lot easier instead of writing on paper. Plus if you make mistake you can just click where made the mistake and fix it instead of erasing it. The computers made like writing better because I don't like to write stuff on paper and I love to type so that makes it more fun for me. I really thank you guys a lot for giving us the computers. If it wasn't for you guys we wouldn't even have them in the first place. So once again I thank you for everything and all the new technology that you guys got for us this year. The computers is a whole lot easier because we go a lot faster then before. Well that is all I have to say and thanks for reading my comment.
Julyssa
I have improved my science because of the computers. I can look up stuff faster for example a word that I don't know I can look it up on the computer dictionary and get definitions fast. Would you like to have a triple e computer? Do you like to be in charge? I can type stuff without going all the way to the computer lab. Do you like children, teenagers, and adults or just two or one. I can look up videos like one time I looked up bakuan and saw the new episode because one day it was a inside recess and the teacher let us get our computers and go to any website. When did you become the leader or how many times did it take you to become one?
Manuel
Dear Dan Maas and Scot Murphy,
I really enjoyed you people coming to our school to see how it is like. I think we learn more with the computers. What I think we learn the most is science, writing and math. I enjoy writing more than I used to in fact Writing is my favorite subject. I like it because you become a better writer and learn many mew things you didn't know about before. I do learn more in science, we use Discovery Education Streaming. I also have done one hundred multiplication facts in two minutes because the computers help me study. Also I do enjoy working on math more. Thank you Dan Maas and Scot Murphy for coming again.
Thank you,
Chantel
Dear Dan and Scott
The way my life is different with the computers is that at first it felt really uncomfortable but then it so much comfortable. Because we usually use them a lot in class. I even think that using the computers does make us learn a lot more. And I in joy more writing than the other subjects.
Sincerely,
Esmeralda
Dear Dan Mass and Scott Murphy,
I really enjoyed having you here today. I think that we are really progressing with the computers. Fifth graders really love the computers and working on them.
Sincerly,
Nathan
Dear Dan Mass& Scott Muphry
We like the computers a lot because it makes me enjoy writing a lot more.Another reason I enjoy the computers a lot is because we get to enjoy this blog to communicate with you. I hope you enjoy the visit to are school. besides these computers are the reason I get my writing done. I just thank you so much for giving us the computers through out the year.you guys have been a huge help to us fifth graders with all the technology. Thanks for all your support.
Sincercly

Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
I really enjoy having the computers. I think it made a big difference on how I learned. three things it helped me improve on writing, science, and helps me to understand what I'm doing.
It helped me on writing by letting me know when I had a grammer problem, spelling problem and other things.
On science it helped me see what actually happens in the systems of the body. instead of just watching the teacher do it.
It helps me fell good about myself too.
sincerely,
Crystal
Dear Mr.Mass and Mr.Murphy
My thoughts on our eee is,that I think that computers are a little better than learning by Mrs.V.My favorite thing is working on math with my eee because I get to work at my own past.Well if you ask me I like computers more than any things else
Ben
Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
Thank you both SO much for coming today. All the 5th graders were so excited and happy that you guys came. Now, to answer your questions. I think life is different for us students with access to the computers and the internet because, kids get to sort of search and explore, and it also gives us a chance to go onto the internet and find interesting facts for ourselves, and if we make a mistake, it doesn't matter, because it's a computer and we can just go through and fix our mistakes, but most important of all, we can LEARN from our mistakes. I think that students learn more AND better with the computers, because instead of teachers droning on and on,{No offense Mr.Moore and Mrs.V}the students can get on the computer and find the information for themselves. I think that students next year should also have the oppertunity to have these computers next year. Yes, I enjoy writing more nowbecause, we don’t have to write and have our hand hurt and whenwe make a mistake, we don’t know that we did maqke a mistake, but on the computers we do. Thank you Dan and scott.

Dear Mr.Mas and Mr.Murphy,
Do they have a boss like Mr.Sumlin does because my teacher (I'm in ms.v class) said my principal Is her boss and my principal had a boss and his boss andher boss had a boss and his boss had a boss and then she said it all came down to you two because you are the hed bosses of all the littleton schools. Is that true?
from,
Jonathan
Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
I think the computers have made a difference in our learning. I have learned things like how to use the keyboard and how to use links. The computers have also made it possible to go to places like Discovery Education and to math games. The computers have also made writing funner. Before the computers I never like writing. With the computers I can do thing like charts and presentations. The computers also make math funner because of the math games my G.T. teacher lets us play when She's out of the building every Friday when we finish our work. The computers also enhance our learning because we have to learn how to do things quickly.
Arturo
Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
Thinks for the eee computers!I think we learn more on the computers then working in our math work book.Because on the eee computer we can learn about every think. Also I think we learn more on the computers. For an example on DE science we can see how every think works.Like this week my class was talking about the heart and on DE science we saw how the heart works.
From,
Elsad
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr. Murphy,
Of course the eee help me in all the subjects we use them in.The most time I like to use th eee is in writing because I think typing then hand writing.Plus I like to use these in math because we can play math games. Also I like using these in science so we can log on our wiki and do our Cognitive Content Dictionary and go to DE science and wacth video's,look up definition's,and look at little action's how your body works.I love using eee it makes school way more easier for my clssmates and I.
Sincerly,
Isabel
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr.Murphy,
My thoughts about writing on the computer is an easier thing than using a pen because you actualy get to think more about what you are writing and your hands won't get as sweaty and they won't hurt as much.another thing I like about the computes is you learn more in science class because when you look up a word in DE science you think you know the meaning to the word but when you actauly see the words meaning you were wrong.Anther way you can learn more is you get to work on a virtual lab which is an activity where you find aheart rate
Your new friend
Jeffrey
Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
I think the computers are a big help to this school we learn a lot of stuff like to handle are own computers and how to put a table in when we go on are cognitive content dictionary.I love having a class with computers.
sincerly ashley
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr.Murphy
Yes the eee do help us more on math because it will help us get ready for math test by playing games about fractions and decimals.Another reason it helps us is that when it comes to sciences we go to our wiki to type or Cognitive Content Dictionary for or new words. Then we go to DE Sciences to get or Final Meaning. When we are finish with our Cognitive Content Dictionary we either do a little explore or read a article. When it comes to writing we continue the essay that we are working on.Then at recess time we stay in to comment in our blog because sometimes Mr. Moore and Ms.V put something to blog on.Thank you guys for giving us the changes to blog.
Evelin
Dear Dan Maas and Scott Murphy,
My thoughts are that all the students do learn better more on our little computers and I say this thought because when I don't use my little computer I don't really learn that much stuff a day even when I use my computer I learn a lot and when I don't use my computer I don't learn a lot.I also in joy playing math games on my computer it really helps me learn better on the math games it helped me adding fractions on my little computer and it also helped me with other stuff.I also in joy writing on my little computer. What incredible little computers!
Love,
Gina
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr.Murphy
I think think that writing is more fun with the eee computers because it makes everything quicker and easier to do because you can type instead of write. My personal opinion is that typing is a lot faster and I'm not always getting hand cramps that stop me from doing my work. Science is also a lot easier with the eee computers because our teachers don't have to tell us exactly what to do and learn how to navigate the computers on our own.
Sincerely,
Cheyanne
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr.Murphy,
I thank you for letting kids use laptops in our Little Public Schools. It makes my work so much easier because I learn more things about science. At home I don't have a computer or laptop. At school you two gentleman gave me an opportunity to use one at school. This tells me that when I have a computer or a laptop at home a I can visit these websites to learn more about science, play more math games, and blog on the laptops or computes.I think all fifth grade students should get a chance to learn how to use a computer or laptop in their future.Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mirican
Dear Mr.Maas and Mr.Murphy
When Ms.V. told us about you guys coming in I thought you were just going to observe us but you both asked different questions. I feel that writing is more fun on the laptops because my hand gets tired and I can't write with my left hand but when I'm typing I use both hands. For science we can learn words at our own pace. We all say what we think they mean and then we learn what they mean so we can understand what they mean. We also can watch the animations to get an example
Kaylee
Dear Students,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments! I am very impressed by the difficult words you choose to include in your writing. Keep working on your grammar and sentences... sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference.
Some of you asked questions which I will try to answer. First, Jonathan asked about bosses. It is true that Mr. Scott Murphy is the head boss of all Littleton Public Schools. We call him the Superintendent which is just a big word for the head boss.
Manuel asked how many times it took us to become leaders. Both Mr. Murphy and I have completed public school which took us 12 years each. Then we went to college for about 4 years. And then we went to graduate school for another 2 years. After that we worked in various jobs for several years. We did not do these things together. In fact, we only met about 5 years ago. Now, you might do some quick math and decide that it took us at least 20 years to become leaders... but you would be mistaken. That's because Mr. Murphy and I know that everyone is a leader in some way. Even students. Did you know that the person in charge of the committee that helps me do my job is a student at Littleton High School? You might ask Mr. Moore about Briggs because Mr. Moore is on that committee and I think he voted to elect Briggs to be in charge.
Thanks again for your comments and ideas. Keep up the good work and now let's show the world how much you've learned by using these big words and great math skills on your CSAP tests! Good luck and keep learning!!
-Dan Maas
Dear Students and Mr. Moore,
I enjoyed reading your comments about how having Triple eee's in your classroom has helped and encouraged your learning in school. Thank you for your thank you notes to Mr. Murphy and Mr. Maas. Keep up the great work at East!
