Dear Mr. Moore,
I think that today was an important because Obama became our new president Of the United States and I will be sure to tell my kids of this day and that today is a very important day and I started crying because he is the first African American person that made it. Obama made history today.

Dear Mr.Moore
Today barack obama got elected to be the president of the united states of America! the funny part about it is when he was doing the pledge to be a good president he choked! I felt sorry for him, embarrassing himself in front of the entire nation. But who wouldn't he just became the first black president!it was one of the things I or any body else will forget.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I was very interested in the inauguration even though it was about Barack Obama because I couldn't believe that he is going to be our new president. I also liked the new president because he is the only one who is going to bhelp peiople get a job and help people live better and also cause they want to live a better life.
A specil memory is that he always remembers about his whole family like give them a kiss,or hug them. The other special thing was that when he was about to enter the white house and I think that is the very special thing in his life.

Dear Mr. Moore
The most important thing in the speech is every American has a job.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I think that fifth grade will notice a difference in their daily life because most of the fifth graders wanted Barrack Obama as our new president of the United States of America. I do have special memories that I want to remember and one of them is when he messed up while he was swearing things he was going to do and help. This day is special to me because Barrack Obama becomes the 44th president of the United States of America. Obama's grandmother from Kenya was there with him. Go Barrack Obama!

Barack Obama is going to lower are taxes so we don't need to waste a lot of money. Obama gives a worthy speech about how our lives will be better. Obama will save the economy from horrible stuff like smoke. I think Obama being president will affect children in like chatting or social studies.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I was interested in the inauguration even though I don't even know what inauguration means and was pretty much bored watching it. Some parts were interesting, like when Obama struggled when he said the oath. I do think 5th graders will notice a difference since Obama is an African-American president and will do some stuff differently. A special memory?! I have 2. The first moment was when Ms.V had switched the channel on accident and the kids screaming, "No!" I really think that was a funny moment. Another moment was when Obama struggled on his oath and some of the 5th graders laughing. I never knew Obama would struggle on talking...
I think today was important because Obama became president. Well, I hope Obama is going to be a generous president.
Sincerely,
Narah
Dear Mr. Moore,
Obama is are new president and I am happy that he is because he speaks wisely when he speaks to the people. If kids were allowed to vote I would have voted for him. He wants to make America a better place to be. On t.v today he talked about change, our ancestors and how our ancestors did the best they could to make life easier for us.

Dear Mr. Moore,
One memory that I will always remember and tell my kids is that Brack Obama was the first African American president of the United States of America. That memory will always be burned in to my brain forever. Another memory that I will always have is that he was the first president that I ever heard that stumbled on the repeating of the oath. I think that today is important because it is like a fresh beginning for everyone. Everyone can let go of the bad parts of the past and focus on the new things in life.

I feel that our live might change with our new president Barack Obama. He is fiamus stores all over the world have Obama T-shirts,shoes,cups,and lots more. His grandmother was sing in the morning.
Mr.Moore
today when we watched the inauguration i don't think that our lives will be changed at all. Because if they don't let us vote then they wont know what we want. All they do is come up with things that grown up will vote for them. Manuel.M
Dear Mr. Moore,
Today is a important day.First because today Barack Obama became the 44th president of the U.S. Next it is important because we had never had a president from some where else than North America.Yes,I do think that 5th grader's in this country will notice a difference in their daily life. I might have a special memory because of what I've been telling you.
I also think this day is important.

Dear Mr. Moore,
It was great that Obama's grandmother was there with him. I think fifth graders in this country will notice a difference in there daily life because, since Barack Obama is an African American and became President of the United States, it will show 5th graders can accomplish anything they want in life even if their different from the others. Special memories from today that I would like to share with my children is he followed what he wanted which was to be President and he accomplished it. I think today is important because Barack Obama made history to be our first African American President.

Dear Mr. Moore,
Yes I do think there will be a difference in there daily life. Even I noticed a difference. The difference is people start to talk about history more after this historic event people change to help Obama with the things he promises us. One memory
that has to be remembered is the Obama election and you can remember things like the Kennedy assananation even the lindenbergh baby. There's a lot of important things in life that will be forgotten in the future so people have to remember them. Today is important because the first black president swore a oath that made him the 44th president of the united states.

Dear Mr.Moore
Today was an important day because Obama became our first African American president. But while he was swearing he was messing up in front of millions everyone will remember today.I thought he sounded equally fair maybe things will get better instead of worse hopefully we finally made history.
Sincerely
Michele
Dear Mr. Moore,
This morning when we watched Obama give his speech, I almost started to cry. I really couldn't believe that this man, this black man, was standing in Washington D.C., waiting to become president. It was a dream come true. I do think that 5th graders in this country will notice a difference in their daily life because, in Obama's speech, he mensioned something about education and giving kids a place to go and learn. He also mentioned something about lower prices and more purchases. I think this will cause kids to notice a difference in their daily life because, on Saturdays and Sundays, parents can actually buy more for their kids and make their kids happy, without worrying that they'll go over budget. For instance, during Christmas, parents go shopping to buy their kids presents, but now with lower prices they can buy more. A special memory that I want to remember from today is, when Barrack Obama reminded us about how we enslaved balck people, and how they died to make it possible for a black man to walk this Earth freely. I think that today is an important day, because we have our first black president, and looking back to the time when black people were our slaves, this is an extrodinary day. Obama toched my heart.

Dear Mr. Moore,
First, fifth grader might or might not realize importance of this. Most kids don't think of what government is affecting their education.

Dear Mr.Moore and Ms.V,
The memory today is to tell my kids that the 44th president was a African American man and his name was Barack Obama. This is an exciting day because this was the first African American to be president.Today is history in life and when I get older I hope that I will remember this day from now on.At the Washington mall there was over 1.4 million people there and when I saw that I said that is many people to go to that one place to watch the 44th president searing in.I bet that Martin Luther King is soooooo happy that his dream came true and if I was him I would be very happy.Today is history!Im glad to be an American!

Dear Mr Moore and Ms V,
Today is January 20,2009 inauguration day.At 10:06 am this morning, Barack Obama was sworn in. On that moment, Martin Luther King Jr. was probably screaming out of happiness that his dream did come true. I feel proud to be an American with an African American as a president. As Obama said the last words of the oath, the crowd , and my class burst into cheers. Aretha Franklin sang 'Let Freedom Ring' and I realized just how lucky I am to live in a free country. I am lucky to be able to look at the 13 stripes and 50 stars as a free human being. Many years ago, I would have wondered why the audience was crying but now I know just how important it is to be free. I am proud to be an American.
Sincerely,
Cheyanne
Dear Miss.Vander Velde and Mrs.Moore,

For the next question the special memory I would like to remember is when Obama became the president of the US.

Dear Miss.Vander Velde and Mr.Moore,
I think that today was a special day and an important day because this was our first African American president including that he was the 4th youngest president and he was the 44th president. How exiting that all the other 43 presidents weren't African American.Go Obama!
Love,
Gina
Dear Mr.Moore and Ms.VanderVelde,
Today Barack Obama made history! He is the first African-American president. This morning in class we watched Barack Obama and Joe Biden be sworn into presidency. First, Joe Biden went up to the podium to be sworn into presidency. He raised his right hand, placed his left hand on Lincoln's bible, and repeated after the man holding the bible. After that, Aretha Franklin sang, "Let Freedom Ring." Then, Barack Obama went up to the podium and did the same thing. He also gave a speech. Some things that I remember in his speech was, "A lot of people struggled through life or death situations so that maybe, just maybe, we would be able to live a better life." He also mentioned that the war is very bad because there is no reason for the violence and to stop hurting the innocent. The crowd was very emotional but because they were glad. Obama is a true hero!
Your student,
Kaylee

Dear Mr. Moore and Miss V,
Today is January 20,2009 and Obama became or president of the United States of America at 10:06am.1.400 or more people went to see the speech of Obama.Martin Luther King was crying of happiness because he said that his wish came true that white and African American people while get alone. People were crying not because they were sad because they were happy. Most of all the people that live thought that they weren't going to have a African American president. But they were wrong about that. Before 10:06 Fox was still or president of all United States of America.I'm happy that we live in a free country.Obama wrote a letter to his two daughters Melina and Sasha saying that he is going to tell them why did they had to come with him to live in Washington D.C he said that he knows that they had fun in the west.Obama wast to help the people that live in trash cans and poor places.Know Obama is on the paraded ready to go live in the white house. Finally Obama is finally our president.

One of the things that impresses me about President Obama is that he values education. He said, "We are the nation that has always understood that our future is inextricably linked to the education of our children - all of them..." Thank you all for sharing your thoughts about inauguration day!
