Hi Mr. Moore,
I was at East last night for the 4th grade musical extravaganza Kids for America musical. It was wonderful! When I spoke with Mr. Sumlin about the eee grant, he told me where your classroom was so I walked down to read some of the 4th grade and 5th grade class writing. I enjoyed all the writing - some sad, some funny. All were entertaining! Thank you!

Dear Mr. Moore
I think cal-wood is grate. Senior Ben is a fun instructor and we played many fun games. My favorite game was camouflage, they're were two owls and some mice and the owls had to seek the mice and stay in one spot. We even had an experiment.I will write more later.

Mr. Moore,
Nice work with the blogging! I hope you and the students are enjoying the EeePCs because it looks like you are very busy blogging! I put a link to your blog in MY blog so others can see your good work! I'm glad you are reaching out to the schools in China... they really want to learn about you!
Also, I am very impressed with how your students are not putting full names down when they post to the blog. This is important because we never give our names to strangers. God job everyone... I'm very proud of all of you!

Mr Moore, Ms. V, and all who made Cal-Wood a reality~
I can't thank you and Ms. V enough for making the Cal-Wood trip possible. I thought the whole trip was well thought out and organized. A huge accomplishment for that many students attending!
I have some pictures coming soon, and my biggest hope is that next year's fifth grade will have the same opportunity...HUGE high fives!!
~Denise, Chaperone and Sophia's mom :}
Hi Guys! It's Ms. Lloyd from down the hall! I was so impressed to see all of the cool pictures from Cal-Wood! It looked like you all had a great time. I was especially impressed when I talked to Ms. V who said that every student who went did a fabulous job and everyone did exactly what they were supposed to do. My 3rd graders were excited to talk about the possibility of going on a trip like your when they get to 3rd grade and knowing that your trip went so well means that they will have a good chance of going as well. I also want to compliment the studnets who were at East those 3 days. They also did a great job and I always enjoyed peeking inside the classroom to see what they were up to! If you have some time to come and tell me more of your wonderful stories, or share your writing about your trip, please come by and see me!
Love,
Ms. Lloyd (impressed with you and a little depressed that I couldn't go with you!)
Hi people my name is Ana, My favorite thing to do is to play tether ball.At school my favorite subject is math my favorite thing in school is science. Is the most fun thing of all but we have that after lunch don't you think that is gross don't you think I do.
Hi 5th grade!
Thank you for letting me visit your classroom today! You are very lucky to have a tech savvy teacher! I loved seeing what you were up to at Calwood! Keep up the great work!
Mrs. Ward
Student Teacher in 3rd grade.
Dear 5th Graders,
We really missed you while you were at Calwood last week. It was very quiet, but the few who remained did a great job holding down the "fort". I loved the first set of pictures and I can't wait to peek at the next batch. Everyone looked so engaged and excited to be learning in a different type of environment. How wonderful that every thing went so well. You have set a perfect example for those who want to follow in your steps. Mr. Moore, did you do the music to go with the pictures? I loved it as well.
Sincerely,
Mrs. S. Green
Hello,
With Thanksgiving right around the corner -- and perhaps you are already on school break -- I wonder whether they have turkeys in China?? And do they eat them like we do??
We have much for which to be thankful!
Terry
The trip looked like lots of fun!
Dear 5th Graders,
I am so excited that you were able to attend this wonderful trip. I think this is something that you will remember for the rest of your lives. I hope that you learned a lot from this experience and you take this experience with you as you move forward in your education. Remember to pass it forward as you grow older.
Mrs. Crowley
You are the most amazing fifth graders! I am so impressed with your writing and your blog and all your hard work. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with all of us!

Dear Mr.Moore,
I think that the spelling city is a great website, so we could study our spelling test and that the website should be at the beginning of the blog. Not like the very front of the blog i mean like it kind should be in the kind in the way so people could see it and go to that website. And so that's what i think about that website and it also helps me study with my spelling test.
From your friend Elias
Dear students at East,
Mr Murphy and I really enjoyed visting your classrooms today. You are really using technology so very well. We are proud of you. What is so impressive is how you use wikis and blogs to write your ideas and learn together. The kinds of words I see you using will help make you successful in Middle School, High School and anything you decide to do! Keep going!!
-Dan Maas
Thanks for letting me join you today. As students, you are awesome. The level of your learning and ability to articulate the skills that you have mastered is so impressive. You are among the best students in all of the LPS schools. You rock!
Mr. Moore-
I would love to have our 5th grade students be able to blog together. This is so exciting. I love your site, especially your rules about leaving comments. I am going to add those to my blog if you don't mind. The cluster map is very cool too! Our blog address is http://kmanzanares@edublogs.com. I hope to hear from you soon!

Mr. Moore and Dragons,
I've been posting and forgot to write in your guestbook. I'm Renee Howell and I serve on the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education so I work with Mr. Murphy quite a bit. I also serve with Mr. Moore and Mr. Maas on the Education Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC) - that's where I first met Mr. Moore. I also run into Mr. Sumlin at meetings. I'll keep checking up on your blog!
Ms. Howell
Dear Mr. Moore,
I see your still as strict as usual Mr. Moore! I miss you all!

Mr. Moore and class,
Greetings! I am Mason, the Technology Coach at Euclid Middle School where I work with students and teachers to implement technology in the classroom.
It's cool to see future middle school students contributing to your class blog. We hope that if you come to Euclid next year you will be able to continue those activities next year and beyond.
Greetings to the Dragon Pagoda class. I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher on the Eastern Shore of Virginia - that means I spend my days teaching the teachers how to use all the technology we have available in our schools.
I found this by way of The Fischbowl blog where Karl Fisch reposted Mr. Maas' blog post asking about the eeePCs in Littleton. In reading the 5th grade comments I saw the link to the Dragon Pagoda. I am impressed by the use of blogs by 5th grade. I have a hard time getting teachers to give it a try with middle schools students!
Great Job!
Hi Mr Moore~
I know you and the students have been hard at work during CSAP's, so I thought the donut holes would be a nice reward..What I didn't realize is that for a class of your size (21?) you need at least 2-3 plastic clamshells of donut holes to allow the students 2-3 peices each, rather than just one a peice..oops!
Where was my math at King Sooper's?
~Denise (Sophia's mom)
Dear Mr. M,
The reason why I think we are working so hard to get to Mars is to find any source of humans. The reason why I think they want human resources there is because we are losing part of our planet everyday because of hoe many people there are on planet Earth. I think people will start to live on Mars if we can find a human resource or possibly all of them. The human recourses are heat, water, and minerals.

5th graders,
Thank you for the great blog comments you gave me. Literally hundreds of visitors from around the world have stopped by to read your posts already. One teacher from New Zealand left me this link he uses with his grades 4-5... you should stop by and leave them some notes. Maybe you'll make some friends on the other side of the world!

Thank you for inviting us into your efficiently managed classroom! I certainly am impressed by the writing instruction that is going on, enhanced by the use of the tripe e computers. Students appear to be engaged in their work, interested in the text, and skillful on the laptops. Best wishes as you continue to lead the way in the use of these innovative devices!

Hello 5th graders and teachers,
I just read Mr. Maas' tweet on twitter about your latest assignment - looking at other blogs and writing your thoughts. My mouth dropped open at how far your teachers are stretching your knowledge. I clicked as fast as I could to get to your blog!
At the Foundation Dinner I met several of you. You all did a wonderful job representing your class as you explained how your teachers expand your learning with their instruction and the eee's.
I wonder how many adults you all talked to that evening? I'll be checking back.
Renee Howell - serving on the LPS Board of Education
Dear 5th Graders,
I wanted to let you know how impressed I was yesterday with your musical performance! As an adult I was highly entertained, and my students were enraptured by the singing, dancing and dialogs! At your evening performance, you continued your stellar performance for many family members and friends. What caught my eye was the number of younger students with no familial relation to any 5th grader, that showed up to watch your performance. That tells me that these younger students wanted to continue the wonderful experience you provided them at school, and share it with their own family. Impressive! Enjoy your success, and also try and take in the seriousness of having so many younger students at East that look up to you and hold you in such high regard. That is a powerful thing to hold in your hands, something you need to cherish and cultivate in order to continue to be positive role models. I hope you all have a wonderful day and rest of the year. 10 or 15 years from now I will be watching to see some of you on American Idol! I might call you up for some tickets and hope you remember Ms. Lloyd!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lloyd
Dear students in Mr. Moore and Ms. Vander Velde's class,
Thanks so much for allowing our group to come and visit your room yesterday. It was so exciting to see a classroom filled with students engaged in the triple eees. You were all so polite, thoughtful and reflective when you answered our questions. Most importantly, I was so impressed with the quality of your writing. I am a fifth grade teacher too. I can't wait to see my students blossom into the same kind of reflective writers that you are. Great job!
Ms. Carroll, Franklin Fifth Grade Teacher
Good Morning Mr. Moore,

Dear Mr. Moore,
Middle school has been crazy!! There has been alot more drama then at East, but in the end best friends get through everything together.I really miss you and Ms. Vander Velde. How are your students? Im sure they adore you guys. You were amazing teachers. I have very good grades passing with all A's except in math. Math is just not my thing. :) my favorite class has to be language Arts. Im in the advanced class!! :D I had great teachers in both sixth and seventh grade, and now that I'm moving on to eight grade, I am even more nervous. I've had ups' and downs' through the two years of middle school, but in the end I realized it was all worth it. I would love to here back from you guys as soon as possible!! hope you Summer is going great so far!!
~ Admira
P.S. I tried really hard to make my grammar correct.. :)
